This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

For my students in Special Education, a new school year and beginning a new school can be very overwhelming. Help me bring more sensory tools and food options to the classroom break room. If a student gets too overwhelmed or frustrated with anything, I have a small room in my classroom dedicated to being a safe, quiet space to go and take a break when needed.

After collaborating with my students, this list became the main source in identifying what my students wanted and would benefit from the most.

Working with my students was a great experience and it allowed them to see firsthand that they needs were being heard and they felt a lot more supported.

Please help in continuing to support my students and help fulfill their wishes in improving the class break room area.
