Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This school year I have taken up a new role as a Language Instruction Educational Program teacher and I am more than excited to take it on this year. I have the complete pleasure of working with students whose second language is English (English Language Learners) and I am already loving it. I will be pulling students into my classroom to work one-on-one with them, as well as pushing into their classrooms to help with content-related work.

I want to provide my English Language Learner students with a welcoming and inclusive environment that they feel they belong in.

I plan to do this with smell-goods that make my room appealing, bilingual and Spanish books, and decorations that show them that they belong. I know that I will continue to build my classroom more throughout the year, but I know this is a good start!
