My Project

Our school has an Innovation Lab, known as iLab. Here all our students, from PK to 6th grade, learn STEM concepts including thinking creatively and problem-solving. They also learn how to design and create.

This project is for new colored pencils and electric sharpeners for my students to color in designs they have created for Lunar New Year lanterns.

My students will be creating a project to celebrate the Lunar New Year. They will use graphic design software to design images incorporating traditional Chinese elements, such as the dragon, with drawings that reflect their interests. The students will then upload their images onto paper lantern templates, which will be printed out and distributed so that others can color and build their lanterns. Students will share their designs with other students as a way to not only learn about each other but also share a wonderful holiday experience.
