Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a special education teacher working in a first grade ICT classroom. As a teacher in a low-income district, my students face many challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite all of these challenges, my students walk into school each morning eager and ready to learn. I'm looking to provide my students with meaningful and authentic learning experiences so that they are able to grow in all aspects of their lives.

My students are funny, creative, and love to move!

They thrive from being able to create and explore with hands-on materials. They want to learn first grade "things" and are motivated to succeed just as much as I want them to!

In an ICT setting, we push for our students to thrive both academically and socially. We place a strong emphasis on building social skills, using kind words, having a caring heart, and working as a team! We are full of acceptance and learning to incorporate and appreciate each other's differences.

My Project

It's been an interesting (to say the least) last two years, but this year is special. Many of my students are in school in-person for the first time ever... and we have a lot of them! The transition has been almost seamless. My students are growing academically and socially. They are sponges, soaking in every bit of information and continuing to amaze me with how eager they are to learn.

These phonics games are just what we need to enrich our learning in a fun way!

Hands-on, interactive games are the best way to engage and maximize learning. Please help me bring this project to life for my 27 firsties!
