My Students

I am beginning my first year as the STEM teacher for my building and will be teaching students in grades K-5. My students live throughout the borough of the Bronx and have Autism Spectrum Disorder. Our school is part of New York City's District 75, which provides specialized instruction and support for students with significant challenges.

Our students are eager to learn and explore and I look forward to seeing their faces light up when they are introduced to new topics or hands-on activities!

My students succeed best when they are provided with a well managed and structured environment, that’s full of love and support for their individual needs. When provided with a well rounded education including visual, auditory, tactile and technology opportunities, my students will continue to grow and achieve success!

My Project

We are fortunate to have a great STEM curriculum full of engaging, hands-on lessons and materials. I have access to the curriculum online and each unit has a list of books that would support the topics in each unit. I would love to start a classroom library in my new room full of books from our curriculum.

Books have special ways of exposing students to the world around them, especially in science!

I love any opportunity to incorporate literacy in my lessons. My students can all benefit from exposure to language to help them to develop their own language skills.
