This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Student's at our school love to learn! They enjoy reading, but sometimes struggle to read on grade level. They are into sports and technology. We are a one to one school, so children are able to learn electronically. They enjoy researching and exploring apps.
Our school has a wonderful school-wide community.
We are like a family and everyone watches out for each other. It is not uncommon to see an older student helping a kindergartner tie their shoe in the hallway.
My Project
New year, new books! Our students need new and engaging books to read during independent reading. They are begging for new titles to read.
Engagement during independent reading is key!
In order for students to be engaged, they have to want to read their book. These are some of the titles our students have been asking for. I am hoping that by providing these new and exciting books, student engagement during independent reading will increase. If student engagement increases we should also see students reading abilities begin to increase as they read more and more. Help me get our students excited to read!
