My Project

I am excited to begin a new year with my students and have created a lot of new activities to help prepare them to enter Kindergarten in the fall, but these new activities that I want to implement require some new materials. The light pad will be an area where our students can visit to build creations and practice those fine motor skills! The forest animals and penguin blocks will be added to our block area, where the students can manipulate these objects using, developing and enhancing their fine motor skills. All of the Art materials including the cardstock, foam paint, stamp pads, paint cups and foam daubers will be used at the Art area to provide more opportunities for students to increase their fine motor skills. I am also requesting number tiles, alphabet practice materials, language games for stations. The toner and laminating and toner will be used to create, print, and preserve child-specific learning aids.

National findings have indicated that children entering Kindergarten in the fall do not have the fine motor skills that children in the past have had.

That is where a lot of new ideas, activities and strategies come into play! I have created a slew of activities that I want to implement with my preschoolers that will get them excited about literacy and writing, which in turn will help improve and enhance their fine motor skills. Most of the items that I have requested will help build students fine motor skills, helping them to be more prepared when they enter Kindergarten in a few short months!

I am excited about implementing new ideas, activities and lessons with our eager little learners, but I need your help to provide new learning materials and resources.
