My Students

Middle school is a highly formative time in a child's life. Middle school students are constantly learning about themselves, others, and the world in which they live. During this period of rapid growth, the learning needs of each child vary greatly.

My middle school students are energetic, enthusiastic, and empathetic.

They need a diverse learning environment and a range of supplies to allow them to develop both academically and socially.

Our school serves students from the city and surrounding towns which means our student population is diverse and robust.

My Project

While this project may seem simple, the supplies you would be helping provide will be used daily. As we blend more traditional learning tasks with technology-based tasks, we will need pencils to take notes and markers to color-code those notes. Dry erase markers and erasers will be used during independent and group work time as a way for students to work out math problems on their personal white boards. Those personal white boards will be created using the lamination pouches for easy storage at desks and in binders. Using personal whiteboards also cuts down on paper waste. Finally, the sharpies will allow students to make anchor charts to track their learning and show their strategies. They will also be used by me to create anchor charts for students to reference.

Having a classroom supply of basics removes barriers and provides an equitable start for every student.

As we enter another new school year in a pandemic, health and safety continues to be our priority. Having extras in the classroom will also allow me to rotate supplies to allow for cleaning between uses.
