My Project

Over the past years, hygiene has been a major issue amongst my students. I am in need of things such as feminine hygiene products, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap and under clothes.

The students' biggest complaints have been their parents have not been able to afford things they need to remain sanitary for school.

I understand, it gets hard at times, even for myself.

My goal is to request storage bins as well so that I can start a care closet inside my class for those days or even weeks when students need additional help. Most students deal with it daily. Others don't. And I hate for students to be picked on over things that aren't in their control. I have been teaching for 5 years now and this issue is ongoing. Simple things like this can become a distraction. Kids can be mean. This can take away from classroom instruction time if not handled in the correct way.

I care for all my students even before I meet them because I have children of my own. Times do get hard. I never want students to feel like no one cares for them, even my own. Giving them this special attention when needed will help them see that they should try and take better care of themselves as well
