My Students

Practice starts with warm up stretches. The girls have to be warmed up to play and then they need to stay that way! These warm ups will keep the girls warm while traveling, as well. We are seven time defending champions at the Mason-Dixon Tournament and will taking a 12 hour bus ride in October.

We are a deaf school and a public 3A volleyball program, where we compete in the FHSAA District play and the State Series Volleyball Tournament.

We have both a Junior Varsity and Varsity program. Our JV is made up of 11 middle school girls and three high school girls. Our Varsity is comprised of 8th-12th graders. Most of the girls come in with no experience and play from middle school until they graduate. We are a K-12 school that receives funding from the state level. We are limited on what we can use the state funds for, therefore, we rely heavily on private donors for extracurricular program needs. Our program serves children from all over the state of Florida.

My Project

The pants and jackets will be used to keep the team in uniform while we travel. Bus rides are often cold and the girls wear mismatched sweatshirts/jackets to keep themselves warm. I'd like for us to look like a team as we travel. We currently have shared warm ups for the entire girls' athletic program. But, they are becoming worn out and the sizes don't always match the girls that we have on a team. Since we have to share them with the teams that are in season, we only use them for big events. I'd like the girls to have use of these warm ups for the entire season and then put them up until the following season. We will fundraise money to have them embroidered with our school name, mascot, and volleyball, so that they will be custom to the volleyball team!

I require my volleyball players to maintain good grades and behavior in school and the residential program, be good role models for other students, and do community service (we do a Dig Pink Volleyball game where we donate all of the money for breast cancer research).

These items will help my team feel good about themselves and pride in their team, which will directly go back to building character as individuals.
