My Students

Do you remember your first preschool experience? I want my Pre-K students to have the materials and equipment they need to play and learn. Preschool is the foundation for exploration and learning!

Our large elementary school has a diverse population of students who speak many languages.

I teach a Pre-K class for students with special needs. They come to me from many different cultures and experiences. While they are challenged by developmental delays, they are eager to learn and explore school for the first time and need basic furniture and supplies to use daily. As I am new to preschool, I don't have many preschool level materials or equipment. My challenge is to create a classroom environment that is developmentally appropriate for my Pre-K students.

My Project

I am requesting cubbies for my Pre-K students to organize their belongings, while teaching them to be independent. They need a 4 station standing art easel to paint and create mini-masterpieces. I am also requesting a sand and water table with a top to use as a sensory station for my students with special needs. They need to be exposed daily to different tactile materials and this table will allow me to create multiple opportunities for exploration. The equipment I am requesting will help my students function independently in the class, while giving them opportunities to learn and explore.

My Pre-K classroom needs to be developmentally appropriate both in materials and size.

The cubbies, art easel, and sensory table will give my students more opportunities to play and create, while meeting their individual needs. Thank you for helping me create a positive Pre-K environment!
