Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

This school year my main focus is on social-emotional education. If students are not feeling ready to learn due to their feelings, it’s impossible to teach them anything. Therefore, I decided to provide plenty of art supplies to allow students calm down by expressing their emotions through drawing and coloring. I’m especially excited to use the Spots Kit. Children will learn how to handle overwhelming feelings, develop a positive self-image, and learn how to improve social and emotional skills need to show empathy, compassion, and kindness. I also included essential hygiene supplies to make sure that students’ working place is always clean and ready for work.
