Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

New Year's inspires us all to make a fresh start. Help our class make a fresh start with some brand new supplies!

Our class is located in Paterson, which was flooded last year by Hurricane Irene.

Students at our charter school often come from homes that are in the greatest need of assistance. Our class is a first grade transition class; the class contains students who would traditionally have been retained in kindergarten. The goal of our transition room is to provide intensive support so these children can still succeed without being retained and essentially missing a year.

My Project

Our class needs labels so we can level the books in the library. By labeling and leveling these books, the students will be able to visit the library on their own and select books that they know they can read. The pens will be essential to help them record their answers when they learn. Finally, the die cut templates will be a great way to decorate the library and show everyone all the books they enjoy reading as they write their favorite books on the seasonal cut outs.

Please help us make a fresh start in 2013 by funding our project.

Our students love to try their best. These resources will be a great way for the kids to get excited about learning to read in first grade!
