My Project

I am moving to a new school this year and I am eager to meet my students! I know they are so excited to start 5th grade and I want to make my classroom as fun and engaging as I can, while still giving them lots of learning opportunities.

My students deserve to have all the tools to help them succeed.

I am hoping to give them exciting books, games that stretch their thinking, and math manipulatives to enrich their learning. With these items, they can take their learning to new heights.

Last year, I introduced my students to A Series of Unfortunate Events. My students loved this book and I had more engagement than with any other story, but I only had the first book in my library. I want to give them access to the whole series.

In 5th grade, my students learn to add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions as well as find the volume of rectangular prisms. By giving them manipulatives, they are able to visualize these concepts better. I know my students will benefit from using unit cubes and fraction bars.
