My Students

My students are amazing! They come with tenacity, creativity, and a wide variety of experiences and gifts. We work hard every day as scholars, artists, critical thinkers, and friends. Together we imagine new possibilities for our community, our country and the world.

At our school, 96% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, and 92% of the students are students of color.

My students have come from many different parts of the world including Ecuador, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Ethiopia, Somalia and the United States. The majority of my students are learning English as a second or third language.

My students are the engineers, pilots, dentists, poets and architects of the future. These students have the capacity to achieve greatness.

My Project

My students are eager students. They want to grasp the concepts that we tackle in class. However, tackling concepts without sufficient supplies is a real challenge. We need wall pops for our math small-groups. We would love to have some exciting positive reinforcements with the smencils (they're really cool!) and LEGO figurines. A 4th grade classroom is always in need of pencils. Lots of pencils. We also will benefit from encouraging post-cards and posters about strong role models to put around our room.

My 4th graders are the engineers, pilots, dentists, poets and architects of the future.

They need to understand the concepts and facts that we cover in our classroom. These supplies are just the ticket. Thank you for considering this project.
