My Students

My students are English Language Leaners who are eager to learn and explore the world around them. I teach at a Title I school in Brooklyn where all students receive free breakfast, lunch and basic school supplies.

Most of these students do not have opportunities to leave their neighborhood, and live in crowded apartments where they lack personal space.

My hope is to provide a classroom environment and classroom supplies which allow students to feel comfortable learning in the mode and location of their choosing.

My Project

One of my favorite times in the school year is during the first few days of school, when everything in the classroom feels fresh and new, and students discover new supplies and seating each day.

Many of my students cannot afford high quality school supplies, and I love being able to provide these for them.

The new books, fresh markers, a microphone, and sturdy book baggies and totes are just a few things that I know will bring smiles to their faces. We also need printer ink and a label maker for classroom activities and organization throughout the year. Our classroom has various forms of flexible seating and I am excited to complete our classroom seating layout with the requested mat, rug, and lap desks.
