My Students

Have you ever been lost in a great book? The imagination of a young mind is full of adventures waiting to be started simply by opening a book. The materials in this project will allow my students to engage themselves in great books enjoyed by many.

I teach a wonderful fourth grade class in Florida.

My students range from 9 to 11 years old, and they always need to be active. A large portion of my class includes students that need additional academic support and materials. As a public school, we face series of budget crunches (like many schools) and depend on supporters to help our children. Our school and our students are wonderful, and I would like to ensure that my class has access to wonderful classroom activities.

My Project

This project is designed to get my students to read books that will challenge them to read a diverse selection of books. These are all Florida State Sunshine Books and include: (1) The Seer of Shadows by Avi; (2) Masterpiece by Elise Broach; (3) Kenny and the Dragon by Tony DiTerlizzi; (4) The Gollywhopper Games by Jodi Feldman; (5) The Girl Who Could Fly by Victoria Forester; (6) Eleven by Giff & Patricia Reilly; (7) Bird Lake Moon by Kevin Henkes; (8) Piper Reed, Navy Brat by and Holt & Kimberly Willis; (9) Someone Named Eva by Joan Wolf; (10) Safe at Home by Mike Lupica; (11) 11 Birthdays by Wendy Mass; and (12) Peter and the Starcatcher Series by Dave Barry & Ridley Pearson. By your donations, you are helping put one of these great titles into the hands of eager readers in my fourth grade class.

By choosing to support this project, your will be supporting the excitement and imagination of my students as they read some of the most outstanding novels written for children of their ages.

This project is important to me as it helps put more great books into the hands of my students. I strongly feel that no student should be limited to access of any great books.
