This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My first graders love when I read them stories. We have old favorites that we read and reread until I have them memorized, but we are always looking for new and exciting books!

Studies show, over and over, that children become life-long learners when they are exposed to rich, interesting, engaging texts.

The books that I have selected will help my beautiful first graders to see themselves represented in books, and to learn about people from other places. These books will help my littles hear so many new words and new ideas!
