This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students arrive to our school eager to learn. They are polite, generous, and strive to be the best they can be. They know that with an education, they can succeed in life and help improve on the lives that they have now.

Our school focuses on families with low incomes and tries to give each student the education they deserve.

While we do not have much, the students use the materials they are given and do the very best they can with them.

My Project

Since Hurricane Irma, my school has been impacted in several ways. All of our trees have been destroyed and removed, our playground set was a huge mess, and some of my PE equipment has been either been rendered useless by being broken or inadequate for use for my students. The school did not receive any power until 1-2 weeks after Irma hit our area. And when we came back, some of the materials I could no longer use because it was not functioning for our students to use. One of them was our soccer goals.

New soccer goals for the students after the impact of Hurricane Irma would be a great boost to their learning in my PE class.

My students love soccer a lot! And I know they cannot wait to play it again. I would hope with your generous donations, we are able to bring soccer back to these students so they can continue to learn new skills and be able to play the game they love so much.
