Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is a Title I school where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Our school population is majority Latino, but we do service African American, Caucasian, Muslim and Chinese families. Students come into the classroom every day ready to learn, and for many of my students, I am their gateway to an academically enriched environment.

My prekindergarten students are young explorers and demand to be challenged and engaged at all times, my classroom is an adventure every day.

My Project

The books requested are from our prekindergarten interdisciplinary units of study which have changed therefore we don't have these books in our classroom for the incoming students. These book donations will be for our four prekindergarten classrooms

Books are the gateway to creative thinking and exploration.

As teachers we want to provide the best learning experience to our students, and the materials requested will help me and my fellow prekindergarten teachers do just that. As an educator it is my responsibility to expose my students to new vocabulary, visuals and content. Each book requested touches upon our question of the week and will help me and my fellow prekindergarten teachers expand on our students learning based on age appropriate content.
