Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a first-grade teacher, I'm excited for this new school year and all that it has to offer. I teach in Long Island City Queens, and something that I admire about my students is the relationships and connections that they build with one another. This past school year our school gained a large population of asylum-seeking students and even given the language barrier between them, each student was kind and welcoming to any new student added to our class.

My goal for this project is to have supplies, snacks, and games to have a fun and engaging school year.

Having a new set of headphones for each student would support my ELL students and also help students focus during IReady instruction.

Throughout the school year, many students go through many pencils, crayons, markers, and tissues! Having these supplies for my students would allow students to not feel limited and to feel confident in their learning. I appreciate anyone who is willing to donate to this project to make this upcoming school year a great one!
