My Project

This year our school has adopted a new pre-K curriculum. My goal for this project is to expand several of our learning centers and to have the students gain a sense of community in our classroom.

Pre-K children need a safe learning community to grow both socially and academically.

Pre-K students learn through experience and play. They are very curious and enjoy new learning experiences. The fidget toys, wonder wands, and sensory rings will be a much needed addition to our Cozy "Calm Down" Center. This center gives the students an area to relax and calm down if they are frustrated, sad, or just want some quiet time. The multi-cultural crayons, markers, & collage materials, will be added to our Art Center. Art is an important way for young children to express themselves in an open-ended way. The board games will help the children work on their social skills as they cooperatively play together. The differently abled poster pack and the daily attendance chart will help build a sense of community for our young students.
