My Students

Lets Tech it out! My students are lucky enough to be able to start the year in a brand new school building. The drawback, the new building doesn't come with all the bells and whistles that we've all become accustomed to like I-Pads and a class printer.

My students are lucky enough to attend a brand new elementary in Moore, Oklahoma.

However, because it costs so much to open a new building, there are a lot of things students have become accustomed to that we do not have, such as I-pads and class printers. Technology is a must in education now and I don't want my students to miss out just because we are in a brand new school building.

My Project

My students will be coming from a school that has had years to build the technology supply. But, since we just opened, we are without things we now take for granted like a printer in our classroom and the use of I-pads for educational use. I-Pads have become such an important tool to get kids engaged in education by making learning fun. They are also a great tool to connect to the internet for research. Our new building also only has one printer in the entire building. For now, students can't really print if they needed to since the printer we do have is for teacher use only. Although, we could manage without them, these are things that have made learning more fun throughout the years as well as much easier.

My students were excited to be in a brand new building, but now that they realize it means they will have to do without things they are used to having, such as I-Pads and a class printer, it has taken the excitement away.

Having the technology in the classroom they are used to will help them to feel like they are not missing out with the other schools around them.
