My Students

I teach in a highly diverse and transient school. This year all of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. I have students with many different backgrounds, single parent homes, students in foster care, and students who have moved several times in their short lives.

I have been working at my building for 20 years and love to watch my students grow through the years.

Because school is often what they consider their safe space, I try my best to make the classroom a home for them.

My Project

With a new school year upon us uncertainty is still our reality. We have learned to pivot and change but with that comes the need to reinvent what our classrooms look like.

I'm asking for a TPT gift card to help purchase materials and activities that will supplement and enhance learning in this new environment.

I'm also asking for carpet squares for the children to have their own dedicated learning space.

My favorite time of day has always been gathering together at the classroom carpet. Covid has taken that away from us. Carpet squares are a way to give each child their own space both indoors and outdoors as we provide learning in all places.
