This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

For everyday computer science classroom instruction, an upgraded (brighter, higher resolution, AND wireless) Epson PowerLite Business Projector will make lessons more visible and accessible. We currently have a 720 dpi projector which is low resolution for lessons in HTML and CSS or Photoshop in our large classroom. Wireless connectivity will save on classroom setup time, which means more instructional minutes per day and more minutes for prep.

We will use the low-res projector to enable "battle mode" in our classroom, which is a classroom environment customized for students solving coding problems on a second projector while the problem stays visible on the other screen.

Students in our 9th and 10th-grade computer science classes will become familiar with dual display setups during their K-12 education.

This upgrade increases accessibility for students with visual impairments and raises the bar for student performance in STEM technological arts and sciences.
