My students need 7 digital cameras with 2GB SD memory cards each, and enough black, cyan, magenta and yellow cartridges to use with our classroom printer to create photographic images.

Help Ms. Torres

I am an experienced Art Teacher in charge of more than 430 inner city students in a New York public elementary school.

My kids, for the most part come from very low income homes, where most of the time it is a one parent household. They lack many material things and many do not know how to express how they feel about their surroundings or/and their sometimes difficult home life.

By giving them a camera, I hope to teach them not only about the elements and principles of art but also to provide them with a tool to see the beauty and positive of their surroundings. I truly believe in their potential and wish for them to grow up with a new perspective of what they could create.

To make this project a reality I do need funding for digital cameras, memory cards, and ink and I am sure that the positive feedback would be almost instantaneous! Help me, help them to see that regardless of their economical situation there is nothing that can stop them if they dream big, work hard and believe in themselves!
