My Students

The loving students that I work with attend school in an urban setting.

I work in multiple Special Education Co-Teach classrooms in the primary grades as the special education teacher.

In the morning the student' smiling faces are what we see when we walk in the door. They are very eager to learn, and learn best doing hands on activities and using manipulatives. They look forward to fun learning experiences every day. These students are an exciting group with mixed interests, abilities, and goals.

My Project

Organization of materials is important to help know where things are located and where things go when you get more. In a classroom students need folders and pencil cases to keep their papers and supplies from getting lost.

This project is to help young students learn how to organize their materials in the classroom and be successful when they are older.

Students like to just put papers in their desks, but then cannot find it when asked. Having different folders for each subject will allow students to organize and put papers away properly, and then find again the next day to be able to continue working on the assignment. The pencil cases will help keep their writing and drawing materials in one place so they can easily get to them when needed. The notebooks will help keep their writing in one place and not get lost amongst other papers. The students will also be able to see how they have grown as writers throughout the year.
