My Project

New class sets of books will enable my students to continue their love of reading as well as master state standards we will apply through thematic units as we complete these novels. Most of our students are very passionate about reading. My goal is to increase their desire even more. For others, I am confident that new, fresh novels (The Outsiders and When You Reach Me) will plant a seed for those who struggle with reading. I chose books with characters they may possibly relate to and will build empathy and character through the trials and tribulations they experience in each story. There are so many lessons they can learn and apply. I plan to use these novels to teach state testing and life skills as we read.
