My Students

Our class is made up of 25, 3rd grade students. Each student has a unique story that makes them special and part of our classroom community. I have had so much fun getting to know them.

I am starting a new year, new grade, and new school.

With all of these changes my classroom needs an upgrade.

As I have gotten to know my new students and families, I have seen their surprise and enjoyment with our classroom flexible seating.

My Project

As I stated before I am at a new school, in a new grade, and teaching new students. My new class has loved the flexible seating that I have introduced to them. However, I have 10 more students this year than I did last year and I don't have seats for everyone. These kids deserve the comforts and flexibility that we as adults want and I would love to give that to them each day when they enter our classroom.

I have 2 students this year that have terrible eczema and their parents have already talked with me about how much the seats help.

Instead of them focusing on their itching skin they are distracted. That was a benefit I had not even thought of and I am so happy that, flexible seating has provided them with an added comfort. I am also, wanting to celebrate my students successes by incorporating music and strobe lights to make them feel proud of what they have done.

I am excited and will continue to find ways to give my students a love of learning. Thank you for taking this journey with us!
