New Nerd Money Class Books to Fill Every Shelf

Help me give my students a class set of books, New Nerd Money by Ian Michael Brock, to fill every shelf with resources that teach financial literacy.

My Project

Our classroom is seeking funding to purchase a class set of New Nerd Money by Ian Michael Brock, a transformative book on financial literacy written in the voice of a young entrepreneur.

New Nerd Money is uniquely tailored to resonate with young learners.

Written by Ian Michael Brock—a teen entrepreneur who has earned accolades for his work in financial literacy—it simplifies complex financial concepts into relatable lessons. Ian’s own story of earning $50,000 at age 16 during the pandemic illustrates the transformative power of financial knowledge and entrepreneurial spirit. The book emphasizes actionable strategies for building generational wealth and overcoming systemic barriers, making it an invaluable tool for our diverse classroom.

Our students are passionate learners who have already demonstrated an interest in financial literacy and entrepreneurship. Their enthusiasm was evident when they met Ian Michael Brock at a previous finance event, where they were inspired by his story and vision. Many of our students come from underrepresented communities and face systemic challenges that make financial literacy crucial for their future success. They are eager to learn skills that will empower them to break cycles of poverty and create opportunities for themselves and their families.

By reading and discussing this book, students will gain confidence in managing personal finances, understand how to leverage skills for entrepreneurial success, learn from relatable examples of youth-driven achievements in finance, equip students with practical knowledge about money management, including budgeting, investing, and understanding credit, encourage students to think creatively about business opportunities and develop problem-solving skills, and facilitate engaging discussions around the book's content, allowing students to connect financial concepts to their own lives.
