Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school has gone through some major changes. One of those changes has been the new schedule we ate required to follow, which includes all middle school students attending band class. This has been a major issue because the students, who are current band members, had to start over because of the many students who have been introduced to the program. Secondly, students are now moving with their cohorts. Thus, where they use to choose the elective they wanted to be in, now they are required to attend all fine arts classes. Because of this change, students were given the choice to do projects or learn an instrument.

Therefore, because all 180 middle schoolers chose band, I am asking for the funding of this project so I can have sheet music that will be challenging enough for both veteran instrumentalists and beginners.

The goal of this new music is to create an interest and a love for music in my students, regardless of whether they choose the class or not.
