Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach in a Title I school. Many of my students are economically disadvantaged, English Language Learners and have special learning needs. Our budget is extremely limited, leaving very little to provide students with fun experiences. For the past two years, I have been teaching from a cart, so I am very excited about providing the best musical experience for my students!

NYC schools are facing a new round of budget cuts, so I am turning to DonorsChoose.org more than ever to help create the perfect music room!

I am asking for your help turning the music room into a special place where students love coming to, filled with inspiring decor, books to read, and lots of instruments to play. Since the room is new, we will need the following musical themed items; border paper for the bulletin boards; musical posters, posters that reflect the diversity of our classroom; music themed books; pencils and sharpener; and other items like sanitizer and tissue to make sure we maintain a safe, clean classroom environment.
