This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

There are 25 beautiful and brilliant students in my kindergarten class. Most of the children in my class have not attended preschool, so this is their first experience in a school setting. Some of our children face many challenges inside and outside the classroom.

Along with school being a new experience for most of the children, about half of my class has entered our school system from other countries.

These students are learning English for the first time.

I love my kindergarten students, and you would, too!

My Project

For years our school was able to fund scholastic magazine subscriptions, and this year we are unable to. These Let's Find Out magazines are filled with science and social studies content, and they really make learning fun and engaging for the kindergarteners. The subscription comes with digital access so we are able to show short very engaging videos on the content in the magazines. The students get to take the monthly magazines home after they are used in the classroom to share with their families. This is always a nice way to connect families to what is going on in the classroom. We would love the opportunity to share these with with children and families in our classroom again this year!
