My Students

Being a 3rd grader can be really tough with all of the standards and benchmarks they have to meet. My students come from a variety of backgrounds and vary with different interests, levels and independence.

My students are a great bunch of 3rd grade children that are super excited about reading.

My students are trying to become great readers and overall try their best to be successful in their academic careers. Many of the students are not reading at grade level at this time and struggle independently. Having a chance to read assisted with peers could only help the students succeed.

My Project

My students need the opportunity to read the same novels at the same time to help provide comprehension, conversation, and confidence.

My students would benefit and enjoy reading together in small groups.

Our class library is limited with paired books for students. Conversations are created when students do the same thing and having a class set of the same book, would strike up great conversations. This could boost reading levels, strengthen confidence and social emotional concerns through text to self-connections. Students would be able to read and share ideas as a group on Post it paper. Everyone would be able have a role by participating with writing, reading, listening, illustrating and speaking.
