My Students

I completely changed jobs! I am now a Resource Teacher at two different schools. This means I get to work with the students who have specific plans to help them with their academics. I love working with these little ones so much more than I ever realized.

I typically have around 15 students on my caseload and many more that need the support but don't have the official plan yet.

I am in school where over 90% of our population is poverty. Several of my students have dealt with trauma in their lives that I could not even imagine. I love making school the place where they feel welcomed and loved.

My Project

I am moving to a new job this year without any supplies or any needs. The schools I am moving too are not Title one which means the only money that comes in is through a PTO. There is not much money there for extra supplies. One of the schools that I am at now, I only have a table in a small room. There is not even a white board.

I would like to get my supplies organized and have the supplies needed to make my school year as successful as possible.

These schools have not had a steady person in my position for several years. As a result, all of the supplies and materials have been picked over by others. With the supplies I am getting, I will be able to organize, sharpen pencils, and have an actual whiteboard.

My students will be able to use the whiteboards, files for the IEPs, and other supplies throughout the day in order to make our small group time successful. For example, one of the things I asked for were velcro dots. I have a lot of blending games that I would like to make interactive by having students velcro the correct blend sound to the correct word! This is just one example of how my students will be using the supplies that I have requested!
