Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is one of self-esteem, discovery, thinking outside of the box, and reaching beyond what anyone thought was possible for my students. I have a fifth grade inclusion class in a low-income, high poverty neighborhood.

Some of my students have some form of learning disability but, I don't see that.

Each and every one of my students has the ability, and desire, to reach for more. For some of them, school is the most stable environment they have, with the adults as their "parents". I strive to provide not just a classroom with multiple learning paths, but a family setting in which they feel safe, loved, and wanted.

My Project

Some of my students will be returning to a very different blended school year. I want to make sure they feel safe and comfortable coming to class. These storage containers will allow my students to safely store their supplies at the end of the day for use the next time they return in person. The pencil cases will allow the students to keep their pens, pencils, highlighters, and rulers in one safe, clean spot for use the next day. The project holders will allow the students to turn in all of their assignments to me at the end of the day without putting all the papers in one gigantic bin.
