Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students I teach come from a very low income environment and many move often, in and out of our school. I teach 1st grade and average anywhere from 18-22 students a year. Despite their home life, most are eager to come to school and learn everyday! I want the opportunity to do the best job I can for them. The items I am requesting, such as MP3 players, book bins, and 6-drawer cart will help me to provide structure, and fun educational opportunities for my new and future classes. Other items I am look to buy for my room include a paper cutter and a three hole punch will be used for the students to make memories out of projects, and/or to label centers and work. I appreciate all who are willing to help me achieve this goal.

My Project

The items requested will help me with class organization and will help the students stay engaged in their work. By receiving these items, I will be able to organize our classroom to provide an engaging, structured environment to meet the diverse needs of all of my students. I have requested materials such as a 5 drawer cart to create an iPad station as well as a listening center. Other materials such as book bins will help organize the library in our class to make it easier for students of any level to navigate more easily and quickly. I have also requested materials such as a paper cutter and 3 hole punch to help me make centers labels that are clear for independent student use as well as for art projects.
