Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach with the most amazing team! We have 3 kindergarten classrooms. This is about 60 kids a year but our numbers are growing. The kids at my school are very loving. They try the hardest and will do anything for their teachers. Some live in tough neighborhoods or homeless shelters. They still come to school wanting to learn and happy to be there. We always want to make sure to provide for every student.

My Project

We need to feel like a family in our classroom. We need a new classroom rug when we learn together. I will need this when students are allowed back together to help them feel like a normal class again. We need new sturdy bins for our classroom library. These bins will hold each students favorite books so they can take them to their seats to read. At the moment, we are not allowed to sit at the library. We use sheet protectors to practice letter formations and use dry erase markers.
