New Chromebooks For Hybrid Learning!

Help me give my students chromebooks for access to the digital version of our classroom, for the remote learning we're doing now and for the hybrid online/in-person learning we will be doing in the future

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Goldsmith's classroom raised $4,603

My Students

I teach in an urban, low-income district. Our school serves students in kindergarten through eighth grades and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers, and a safe learning environment. It is extremely hard to get funding for anything. We are a small school that is often overlooked. The students are curious and eager to learn. Sadly, there are not always enough funds for individual classroom projects.

Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

Today's students embrace the ever-changing world of technology, and my job as a teacher is to help them learn using technology for our 21st-century world.

My Project

In this new normal of remote learning, my students are staring at screens all day long. Many of them rely on the outdated technology provided to them from the school district. Some even use their phones to log into a class. For any student, this is a distraction and an obstacle to learning. These new laptops I am requesting would allow them to focus not on the latest technical difficultly but on learning as best as they can in these circumstances. The cart of 15 computers used to share between the classes have been dispersed for remote learning. Not only is that not enough for at-home use for each student, but now the classroom will not have computers when we return. I plan to use the computers donated now and in my classroom when we return to in-person learning.

By donating to our project, you will help to level the playing field for my students who often don't have the means to afford the updated technology that is now more essential to their education than ever.

I plan on designating this technology for in-class use upon our return to the classroom for a seamless transition. We will continue to use the new digital learning tools like Google Drive and Google Classroom so that students learning is not interrupted. Outdated or a complete lack of technology creates a multitude of unnecessary obstacles for my students. Please help us to turn our virtual learning into a success story when we return to the classroom.
