This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

There are 25 beautiful and brilliant students in my kindergarten class. Most of the children in my class have not attended preschool, so this is their first experience in a school setting. Some of our children face many challenges inside and outside the classroom.

Along with school being a new experience for most of the children, about half of my class has entered our school system from other countries.

These students are learning English for the first time. I love my kindergarten students, and you would, too!

My Project

In our classroom we would greatly benefit from new building blocks. My students come from homes where toys and other hands-on activities are not available to them. I would love so much to be able to give them the opportunity to play with them when they come to school during the limited free time they are allowed. The few materials we do have at school are old and extremely limited. I would love to see my students faces light up when they see and use these blocks in the classroom.
