My Project

My students are eagerly reading, sharing recommendations, and are on the hunt for new books! We spend a part of each day in our classroom reading self-selected books. Students attend our school for 7 hours and 5 minutes each day; having a small section of that day devoted to reading something they love is an easy decision!

Having choice in reading is a sacred part of our day, and one that supports student learners in every academic capacity.

My students have already connected and devoured so many of the books in my classroom. I want to support their voracious reading appetites with access to even more books. Many of the books on this list were requested or recommended during our Book Share Fridays. There are also some sequels to beloved reads that students are waiting hungrily for! Students will also benefit from a new bookcase to store their selected texts. A few mores supplies requested on this project will support our classroom organization.
