Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Thanks to previous donations, my classroom has transformed into a vibrant, print-rich space, and my students’ reading levels have already shown measurable growth. Their gratitude for these books is palpable. One student recently shared, “Books are like windows to places I’ve never been, and every page teaches me something new.” Moments like this underscore the impact that access to high-quality literature has on young minds.

To continue this momentum, I’m requesting a new collection of texts that highlight the beauty and complexity of American life, featuring works by August Wilson, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, and writers from the American West.

These selections will inspire my students to reflect on themes of community, individuality, and the natural world.

Your support will allow my students to dive into stories and essays that challenge their thinking and spark new aspirations. With your help, we can empower them to reach new heights in reading and in life.
