Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Second grade is an important year for mastering the basics of reading. For that reason, I am always encouraging my students to read, read, read and I find time to read out loud to them every day. I also encourage their grownups at home to listen to them read and read out loud to them. The trouble is, not every parent is able to read books to their children in English and I don’t have many books in other languages.

I am requesting several Spanish picture books so that my new students who speak Spanish only, and my other students who have Spanish-speaking parents, can read with their grown ups at home.

I believe that listening to grownups read to them at home will instill a love for reading and books in my students. The books I am requesting are popular children’s books that I know my students will enjoy reading with their parents.

Please help us get some new Spanish books so everyone can read with their grownups at home. Thank you for your consideration.
