Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are fun and loving 5 year olds who live mostly in shelters or temporary housing. Many of my students come from low socioeconomic households. My students enjoy learning new things every day. My students absolutely love reading and writing. They are very excited when it comes to knowing their power words. They are currently learning how to read and write power words at flash speed. Additionally my students enjoy making their own stories by publishing their own creative books.

My Project

Our kindergarteners love the story Brown Bear Brown Bear. We would like for each of them to have a copy to read during their morning reading time. Additionally they love the story Caps for Sale. We would like a step stool in order to reach our storage bins that are very high up. We would like new green folders in order to put student writing in during writing workshop. It gets hot in our room during the spring time so we would like to keep cool by having two fans in our classroom. Additionally we would like water bottles for when we get thirsty during snack time. We would also like pencil holders at our writing stations so children can access a writing utensil easily. We would also like to have the book strictly no elephants for a read aloud.
