It's always been a challenge getting students to read for pleasure, so I asked them what it would take to get them to read more. They overwhelmingly said they would read more if they could find books they like. They told me several titles, series, authors, and genres they like, so I tried to put as many of them as I could on the list. As interests change throughout the years, it's important to keep a classroom library stocked with current, popular books students are enthusiastic about reading.
I also love to incorporate art into my reading and social studies class.
My students are very creative and love to express themselves through art projects, so paint supplies would allow them to do a lot more.
