My classes consist of 20-25 fourth grade students each, all with diverse academic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. We are a Title I school, and more than half of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch.
My students are eager to be academically successful, and I am determined to do whatever I can to help them reach their goals and aspirations.
Donations to this project will provide the materials needed to completely immerse my students in the curriculum in a fun and engaging way.
I believe in order to be a great teacher, I need to be a life-long learner. I have been teaching and learning with fourth graders for most of my career and I still love it! I love watching my students gain confidence in themselves. I love to ignite the fire in them that will make them life-long learners who are excited to read, learn and discover new things. My desire to make a difference in every one of my students' lives is my driving force.
Becoming a National Board Certified teacher will enable me to continue to hone my skills as an educator and have a greater impact on student achievement.
Becoming a National Board Certified Teacher will distinguish me as an accomplished, highly effective educator.
