Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Hello! I am a sixth grade teacher in Northern California and I teach a self contained group of English language learners. Most of my students come from low income households in which access to a computer is unavailable. I am hoping to acquire 3 Netbooks for my class to be able to type their work.

My students attend a Title One school in California and all come from a household in which English is not the main language spoken.

I have an energetic, diverse group. In my class, we will be learning English, math, history, and science. I am hoping to teach my class how to type their reports and essays and allow them all access to a Netbook in order to complete and save their work. I also plan to have each student create a file with their progress, work samples, and test scores which they can show to their parents at conference time.

My Project

Having the netbooks in my classroom will be very helpful. They will allow more students access to a typing instrument. They will enable students to learn to type, spell check their work, and turn in quality work that they are proud of. These instruments will also allow students to save their work in a format that is technologically advanced, and teach them organization as well as responsibility.

Please consider our group for these amazing resources.

They will be helpful in our classroom across the board from math and history, to English and science. I am certain the students will enjoy using these and they will serve as a reward for those who do not otherwise have access to computers at home.
