My Students

My main goal is to create a classroom in which every student is a reader and a thinker.

My students are inquisitive, kind, and beginning to be real readers.

Roughly 70% of my students receive free or reduced price lunches. Each day, my students gather on our carpet area and we share a story. The majority of my picture books are fiction and I'd like to change that.

My Project

I've selected many non-fiction picture books to share during our read aloud. These books will be added to our classroom library and will be used to teach the students the different ways you comprehend when reading non-fiction versus fiction. These books cover a variety of topics that are sure to meet the diverse interests.
