My Project

Making class time enriching for every child means teachers seek out learning in all differentiated ways. Third grade standards include learning about fractions, comparing fractions, and making equivalent fractions. The use of fraction strips is crucial to establishing a concrete understanding of what a fraction is. Starting with practical examples of fractions allows students to transition to drawing accurate fraction models on their own.

Our current fraction strip storage center is in desperate need of a Marie Kondo makeover.

Learning can be joyous, but even I get bogged down by the constant resorting needed for 30 sets of fraction strips, each with 88 pieces stored in Ziplock baggies. It's close to chaos, only slightly better than nothing, and our class deserves an efficient solution. With 88 fraction strips to use and clean up for each student, only these Super Stacker storage boxes will make this storage solution both aesthetic and effective. I also request Crayola Air Dry Clay to support tactile learners as they create concrete fractions.

Implementing an efficient storage solution not only saves time and frustration but also enhances the learning environment for students. By streamlining the organization of fraction strips, I can focus more on engaging students in meaningful fraction activities rather than dealing with the hassle of constantly resorting materials. With an efficient storage system in place, I can create a more productive and enjoyable hands on learning experience for all students.
