My Project

Hands-on exploration not only engages but encourages participation in our transition program at Ponca City High School. In the self-contained program, our students are learning individual skills they need to be as independent as possible. Through distance learning and Covid, many of our students were unable to gain hands-on knowledge of teacher-led activities with tangible items in hand. The mock register and ATM will help my students practice those necessary skills that oftentimes are only talked about. After utilizing these practice manipulatives, my students will be able to go into the community through our community-based instruction program and put those skills to use. All items requested will help to create hands-on task boxes that will give individual students additional opportunities and tangible items to work with.
